Chepstow violin teacher Paula Kempton (photographed centre of the photo) organised a group of her students to perform Pachelbel’s Canon in D major to raise funds for dementia. The violinists played a ‘marathon’ performance at Beaufort Square, Chepstow on Saturday morning protected from the weather under the shade of a gazebo.
Paula Kempton said; “We really enjoyed playing and raised money for the Alzheimer’s society. We picked Pachelbel Canon because everyone loves it and being a canon, lent itself to playing on a loop. We will definitely do something like this again!”
This was the group’s first attempt at playing to the public in the street and collecting to raise funds. Paula Kempton said: “Everyone played so well and we made £131.21 for the Alzheimer’s society!”
