Singing High & Dry: Frankie Wesson (22) from Abergavenny playing and singing on the wall in front of Monmouth Bridge. Frankie Wesson is a self taught musician who began writing songs at the age of 16 and her heartfelt songs are drawn from personal experiences and these are moving and relatable. Raised on artists like Van Morrison, Eva Cassidy, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac their influences have formed a foundation for her eclectic musical taste.

Frankie has also taken inspiration from contemporary artists such as Ed Sheeran, Alanis Morisette, John Mayer, Adele, Macklemore, Gabrielle Aplin, Paramore and Tracy Chapman. Her sets consist of a mixture of both laid back and upbeat original songs aw well as covers.

The first Monmouth Busking Festival was held in 2014 and it was inspired by the Coleford Busking Festival. The busking festival was instigated with the help of Nick Penny and Sara Warshawski. The festival at Monmouth is held on International Busking Day.

They are a ukulele group of varying abilities, who got together to make some music but maybe more importantly to have a lot of fun. Whilst having a great time they also raise money for local charities. They have loved playing at both the Coleford and the Monmouth busking festivals! If you would like to know more about their endeavours or you want to book a fun Uke band, that will always play with a smile, take a look at their Facebook page  Ukes uv Azzard
