Building Bridges and MAGIC held a Fun Day at Raglan Football Club for the families and members of the groups involved in the support of children and youth with additional needs. MAGIC supports children ages 0 – 14 years and Building Bridges 14 – 25 years. The projects support young people with additional needs to be involved in fun activities. MAGIC and Building Bridges work in partnership and are seeking further funding opportunities to support their worthwhile causes.
Their aims are to support and encourage young people to engage in their local communities; broadening their social networks, making friends, confidence building and learning social skills. Thier focus is on sustainability and supporting young people to make connections with individuals and groups that outlive the life of our project and achieve this through one-to-one and group work encompassing social, leisure and work related activities.
Beccy Williams, Manager of Building Bridges said ‘The event went really well and it was great to see children having fun in a safe environment where they are comfortable. This specific event was for the young people and their families to have a relaxing fun day.”
